Mystic, Stonington & Noank | Connecticut

The beautiful Mystic River can certainly be counted as one of Southern New England’s premier cruising destinations – offering an abundance of nautical history and providing a serene and safe setting to cruisers. The town of Mystic, nestled along the banks of the river, was founded in 1654 and has a long history of boat building and seafaring trade.  The town remains devoted to its past with many attractions having a maritime theme, such as the world famous Mystic Seaport and Museum, the Mystic Aquarium and numerous day cruises aboard historic ships. It is a quintessential New England small town, with the colonial period architecture of “Olde Mistick”, a quaint waterfront, nice beaches, and dozens of shops and restaurants. Mystic is also perfect for families, offering educational attractions, activities and many restaurants geared for children, making it a fun family getaway. The tranquil neighboring villages of Stonington and Noank are part of the region’s charm and offer wonderful protected anchorages and marina facilities.  There are also numerous biking opportunities on winding country roads, as well as unusual shops and unique restaurants in Stonington village.
