The very charming village of Woods Hole is located a few miles west of Falmouth. It is home to the largest private non-profit oceanographic institution in the world, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, dedicated to the study of the ocean and its interaction with the Earth system. An Exhibition Center is open to the public, and educational tours are available. The best way to get to Woods Hole from Falmouth is by bike or by trolley.
