Villages like Pigna, Corbara and San Antonino, rated as being as one the nicest medieval towns in France, are located close by. It is possible to anchor in the bay, well sheltered except for northerly winds. With the sun on the mountains and the citadel as a landmark, the approach to Calvi port at dawn is magical.
