One of the best yacht provisioning supermarkets in Rhodes, run by Panayotis-aka Peter and his sister. Offering a full provisioning service, sourcing local produce and hard to find products. Fresh fish, fruit & veg, wines, spirits, beverages and ice delivered directly to your boat. They have a clever 'look book' of products, fish, and cuts of meat to help you choose if there happens to be a language barrier, but both Peter and his sister speak very good English. They also supply refill gas bottles.
Not too far from the Mandraki harbour, Vintage wine & spirits is an excellent store with a good selection of wines, top champagnes, liquers and spirits. The range of Greek wine is excellent, plus they have a choice selection of French, Italian and Spanish wines.
A professional store well known to visiting yachts!
The original yacht provisioning supermarket on the Mandraki, started by Manolis many years ago, and now run by his son Vassillis. They are always very attentive and happy to help find exactly what you are looking for. The shop has a wide range of stock from tinned and dry goods, fresh fruit & veg, many good frozen products such as ready to bake croissants, to more specialised deli products, wines, spirits, champagnes and beverages. Vassilis will find the best quality fresh fish, seafood and quality meat. All delivered free of charge directly to your boat.
Alpha Beta Supermarkets is one of the earliest and most well established supermarket chain stores in Greece. Products tend to be slightly more superior, especially in more up market areas. They offer a wide range of Greek and foreign products, deli produce and a very good selection of wines, spirits and champagnes for a supermarket.
Alpha Beta is a taxi ride away on the Rhodes-Lindos road, but it is well worth a visit to stock up on slightly better quality products.
Well alot of people are going to be disappointed to find that the old Pappou department store just behind the post office on the mandraki has now closed down. This was very handy for basic goods, and also that it sold a wonderful range of foreign products, especially chinese and eastern goods. However, their new premises is not far away on Canada Street, a reasonable easy walk and close to a taxi stand at Agios Nikoloas square. It is still a good supermarket, and sells the same produce-probably with more of a selection for food produce than before.
Supermarket Spanos is a short taxi ride away from the downtown harbours, and is a very well stocked supermarket for all tinned, dried, and fresh produce. They also sell a few more exotic eatern items and pataks curry etc. A fairly good selection of cheese and deli meats, plus they have a very popular take away food service counter. The supermarket covers three floors and sells all basic cleaning and kitchen equipment. Kitchen ware and an odd assortment of necessities for the household and garden. All in all a very good supermarket.
Importers of first class wines and spirits-Marinos has 2 stores in Rhodes, one very close to Colona Harbour on Ermou Street {in through the main castle gate and take a right}, and the other on 28th October street closer to the Mandraki.
The store on Ermou really is a Cave, dark and cool with an excellant choice of wines spirits and champagnes.
Somewhere to buy what cannot be found in the supermarket.
