Located at the bridge between Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven, Eastville Beach offers great panoramic views. Lighthouse Beach is located near Edgartown’s center (a short walk from North Water St) and is quiet and safe for children.
Block Island is a destination with beaches in mind: there are a variety of public and private beaches located around the island. Favorite include Crescent Beach, stretching several miles from the Old Harbor, or Dory’s Cove Beach, off of West Side Road.
Several very nice beaches are located by the Wentworth by the Marina such as: Odiorne State Park, located across Little Harbor via dinghy. New Castle Town Common, located 1½ mile walk from the marina.
The long sandy Es Trenc beach that stretches between Sa Rapita and Colonia San Jordi is rated amongst the best beaches in Mallorca, and is popular especially on weekends.
There are many beautiful Calas and coves along this stretch of coastline.
The whole region is a great place for road or mountain biking.
La Route des Crêtes: Quiet (especially off season) and steep scenic road of 15km long between La Ciotat and Cassis. A local favorite. Ride your bike directly from the shipyards towards the Vieux Port and then just follow the quiet road along the coast.

Nantucket has over 24 miles of bicycle paths on mostly flat terrain, providing an ideal environment for biking. Bike paths are separated from the adjacent roadways and link many areas of the island. A ride to the charming village of Sconset, 8 miles east of town, is highly recommended. Other popular rides include the more hilly 12 mile round trip to Madaket, offering views of ponds and moors, or you can take the short ride to Surfside Beach.
The country roads linking Noank, Mystic and Stonington offer nice biking grounds. Another popular ride is the 22 mile Vineyard Loop, starting from Mystic and taking you to Stonington and Jonathan Edwards Wineries, through N. Stonington Village.
Scenic bicycling routes abound in and around Camden. Among the favorite rides are the scenic loop around Rockport’s Beauchamps Point or the ride around Megunticook Lake. Some Camden Hills State Park trails are accessible to mountain bikes.

A great way to explore the Vineyard is by bike via the 100+ miles of bike paths that take you to the beach, state forests or from town to town.
The “down-island” route links Vineyard Haven to Oak Bluffs to Edgartown and back (roughly 25 mile round trip). It is mostly flat, with a mix of road and bike paths.
Experienced riders can bike “up-island” to Chilmark and Aquinnah, (more than 20 miles each way from Vineyard Haven) with breathtaking country landscapes and ocean views.
About 50 miles of carriage roads, crisscrossing through woods and fields are open to bikes. Eagle Lake Loop, going around Eagle Lake, the park’s largest lake, is very popular among families. Trails from Eagle Lake wind to Jordan Pond, home of the Jordan Pond House and its famous tea. A more challenging trail is the 11-mile loop ‘Around the Mountain Trail’, with an extended climb up the northwest side of Parkman Mountain.
