We know, we know… You loved our yearly printed guides, filled with updated info about your favorite cruising destinations and gorgeous photos from professional photographers. They were flying off the shelves in marinas, boatyards and marine outlets, all over the harbors we covered. Many of you were even collecting them, summer after summer. And it is true that, since the launch of the Yacht Insider’s Guide publication in 2009, whether it was for the French Med, the Balearics Islands or New England, the focus has been on our printed guides.

Considered the heart and soul of the Cote d’Azur since the late 19th century, Cannes is one of the world’s most glamorous destinations and a ‘must see’ for visitors in the area. La Croisette, the renowned waterfront promenade, lined with luxurious designer shops, superb restaurants, five star Belle Époque hotels and trendy bars, is in many ways the symbol of the Riviera’s popular fantasy. Cannes’ moment to shine arrives every year in May, with the venue of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, attracting ‘la crème de la crème’ of the movie industry as well as a myriad of poseurs and fans. Despite its glittery image, Cannes is also a year-round lively town, with Le Suquet, its charming old district, plus a plethora of restaurants and stores fitting any budget and a long stretch of fine beaches. It is the base of many yachts and crew, who appreciate the convenience of being in an entertaining town with many excellent yacht services nearby. Cannes’ wide and sheltered bay is home of two large marinas, the Vieux Port, in the heart of the city, and Port Canto, situated further away, on the East side. A few minutes’ drive to the west side of Cannes are the peaceful little towns of Mandelieu and the port of La Napoule, both of them hosting major marinas. An ever growing Boat Show takes place every September around the Old Port.
