We know, we know… You loved our yearly printed guides, filled with updated info about your favorite cruising destinations and gorgeous photos from professional photographers. They were flying off the shelves in marinas, boatyards and marine outlets, all over the harbors we covered. Many of you were even collecting them, summer after summer. And it is true that, since the launch of the Yacht Insider’s Guide publication in 2009, whether it was for the French Med, the Balearics Islands or New England, the focus has been on our printed guides.
Formentera
Just a few miles to the south of Ibiza, the low lying island of Formentera enjoys an almost tropical setting, complete with long white sandy beaches, a lagoon and turquoise clear waters. The island is far less developed than its big sister Ibiza, but is a popular beach destination for thousands of visitors that flock to the white sands every summer. Formentera has a definite low key and relaxed ambience, with dozens of small beach bars offering cocktails and fresh seafood in the trademark chilled out atmosphere first introduced by the hippie invasion of the 1960s. For the yachtie visitor, Formentera’s east and west coast as well as the nearby island of Esplamador offer good anchorages, all set off with white sandy beaches in crystalline waters. This is a real beach paradise in the Mediterranean.
