“Newport, RI has a deep history of sailing and boating, very much like The Bahamas. With centuries of nautical history, Newport is no stranger to boating, sailing, and yachting,” said The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism's Parliamentary Secretary John Pinder.
Newport hosts countless sailing regattas and championships every year, but the granddaddy of them all is The Ocean Race. Dubbed “the Everest of professional sailing” by Race Director Phil Lawrence, this celebrated around-the-world team race makes its only North American stop right here in Newport this May.

Boats of all shapes and sizes are on display at the New England Boat Show at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Attendees can see and shop more than 400 boats – from center consoles and family cruisers to pontoons and wakesports boats.
America’s Boating Club’s Boating Simulator will let visitors take the helm and get hands-on practice in boating skills, and a new indoor paddle pool lets attendees try a variety of paddle sports.
