OUTDOORS AND SPORTS

Located midway between Marseille and Toulon, La Ciotat is a charming little town, in the middle of the gorgeous Bandol and Cassis wine regions. This quaint fishing village has a long tradition of building and refitting ships going all the way back to Phoenician times! Until 20 years ago, it was one of the major French commercial shipyards and today it is one of the major centers in the world for Superyacht refits. The yacht companies inherited a fabulous marine complex that is the envy of other shipyards in the Mediterranean. The port of La Ciotat is also equipped with a heliport and a 2000 ton syncrolift. The site is administered by Semidep, a semi-state body, and their policy has been to encourage as many complementary yacht-related activities as possible to locate here, with the aim of providing every service a visiting Superyacht could need, all within the one 35 hectare secure site. Monaco Marine has its largest state of the art facility featuring an impressive painting shed. The small Provencal town, featuring a choice of excellent restaurants, is in walking distance from the yards and is a sport lover´s heaven with nice beaches and excellent local facilities and conditions for water sports, climbing and skiing, with world-class ski resorts only two hours away.

Yacht Insider’s Guide Is Going Digital Only
June 19, 2022

We know, we know…   You loved our yearly printed guides, filled with updated info about your favorite cruising destinations and gorgeous photos from professional photographers.   They were flying off the shelves in marinas, boatyards and marine outlets, all over the harbors we covered.  Many of you were even collecting them, summer after summer.  And it is true that, since the launch of the Yacht Insider’s Guide publication in 2009, whether it was for the French Med, the Balearics Islands or New England, the focus has been on our printed guides.
