Passionate about classic yachts, Jim owns a wooden International One Design that he restored and races. The carpentry shop is located within the Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard with a team of 15 full time highly qualified carpenters and painters. Their focus is mostly on interior work, although recently completed a major teak deck project on a 140ft yacht, removing the entire deck to install a new one, their fourth such deck. They can accommodate any request involving wood, composite or vacuum veneers from teak decking, mahogany cabinetry and fine furniture as well as sprayed finishes.  They specialize in veneer and wood selection to match existing woodwork, so the new piece looks like the original. From a glassware holder to an entire deck, nothing is too big or too small for this team, always bringing the same level of quality. Recent projects include major refits on a Gunboat 60, an interior on a new 52’ expedition yacht, and an extensive lobster yacht conversion. To explain his success, Jim modestly says: “My philosophy is that the work we do allows us repeat business”.
