English is also commonly spoken especially in the most touristy islands and Tahiti.
The local currency is the Pacific Franc (xpf or cpf).
Its value is linked to the euro so its conversion into euro is always the same: € 1.00 = xpf 119.332.

Banks are open from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. They are closed on Saturday and Sunday, except some of them which are open on Saturday morning. In Papeete, they are open at lunchtime but usually close for one hour between 12:00pm to 1:00pm elsewhere.

• A charter license is initially granted for 6 months, renewable.
• Captains send all the yacht’s paperwork for a charter license request. The local yacht agents usually handle the file submission on behalf of the yacht and follow up.
