SHINING LIGHT ON SUSTAINABLE LUXURY, SOL SUNREEF 80 ECO
Welcome aboard SOL, the first 80-foot Eco Power Catamaran launched by Sunreef in 2023. As a sun enthusiast, I was instantly captivated by her name, inspired by the Nordic Goddess of the Sun.
Stepping aboard SOL, the first detail I notice is her expansive beam. At 40 feet, SOL’s beam provides voluminous and luxurious living space for her guests. Next, I move into the salon where I am greeted by her professional crew of 4. SOL’s elegant-contemporary interior is complimented by neutral tones and wraparound windows that frame the light and airy main salon, offering ocean-view panoramas.
All décor, furniture, and finishes are vegan, ensuring they are cruelty-free and contain no animal products. The detail and aesthetic of her décor immediately transports me into a state of tranquility and ease.
In addition to the décor details, the professional crew of 4 are dedicated to using only the safest, non-toxic, and ocean/reef-safe cleaning supplies and personal care products. Other green initiatives include an energy-saving air-conditioning system, a water-making and purifying system. SOL is equipped with two 360 kW electric motors and a 990 kWh battery pack, allowing for silent, eco-friendly cruising.
Moving down to the 4 guest cabins, the king-sized primary stateroom is located amidship within the starboard hull and a queen-sized stateroom is located forward. Two additional queen staterooms sit on the portside hull. The staterooms are intricately designed for maximum space, with ample storage options and deep closets. The bedding is exceptional quality with a natural design, and eco-consciousness, ensuring guests drift off each night on a cloud of relaxation. The ensuites are equipped with charging stations, luxury non-toxic personal care products, and hairdryers, while the primary cabin also features a desk and a safe for guests’ convenience.
Now, onto my favorite area—the flybridge. The intricate yet minimalist décor on the flybridge seamlessly extends the interior’s aesthetic. Open views of the ocean, with a vantage point over the battery packs on the hull, as well as the forward seating area and hot tub, create a luxurious yet minimalist ambiance. This thoughtful design seamlessly combines elegance with sustainability.
From top to bottom, SOL is intricately designed to offer her guests an unparalleled experience while significantly reducing carbon footprint. Captain Jack and his crew look forward to curating a sustainable and luxurious experience for guests this winter in the British Virgin Islands and Leeward Islands.
