Syndicat Maritime Méditerranée

Labor Union for Seafarers, Member of ITF (international transport federation for seafarer’s), with a Professional Yachting Department. Can assist French or foreign crew from any flagged yachts, bringing them support and counseling during any type of conflict. Can delegate a conciliator representative of the ITF (international transport federation of seafarer’s) and help to find a lawyer. Vast knowledge of national and international regulations as well as maritime labour rights in French territory waters. Yachting department contact is Corine Archambaud (known as Coco).

Groupement des Equipages Professionnels du Yachting Gepy (GEPY)

Leading French marine association founded in 2002 and run by several Superyacht Captains. They do an essential and fantastic job at representing the yacht crews with national and international administrations, promoting crew training and formation and informing members about their rights. Hold meetings several times a year, offering a great networking base to captains, crew and marine professionals. Open to all crewmembers and yachting professionals. Unanimously recommended for the great support they offer to yacht crew. Make sure you join them!

Professional Yachting Association

Non-profit association founded in 1991 by a group of professional yachtsmen, to represent and help yacht crew. Encourages and assists crew with advice at all stages of their careers. Plus offer the following MCA-approved: Service Record Book with full membership, Training Record Books (that records practical training and work experience of candidates applying for yacht deck officer certificates) and Yacht Rating Certificates. Recognized by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency, the UK MAIB & other influential international organizations.

Riviera Yachting Network

Very active marine trade association created in 2000, promoting the know-how and complementary skills of a network of yachting related companies. Regroups a growing number of services including high profile shipyards, diverse services and suppliers. Most of these services are highly acclaimed by captains and crew who have been using them. Present at the arrival of unloaded yachts from Dockwise Yacht Transport to greet captains and crew, giving them a very instructive file with useful contacts and information about the region.

The Seamen’s Church Institute of Newport

Provide non-profit services and support to visiting and local boaters or anybody in need of compassionate financial, referral, or listening assistance. Located in an historic building by the waterfront with lounge, library, garden, rooms to conduct personal and professional business and a frescoed Chapel of the Sea. They have 9 affordable and newly renovated rooms downtown. Wi-Fi, mail & package collection, transportation for errands. Onsite Aloha Café for affordable breakfast and lunch. Open 365 days a year, 7:30 am to 2:30 pm.
