Take a walk up the old Roman road to the ruins of this castle, formally a Roman stronghold.
Great views as it’s one of the highest points on the island. The castle is close to Ferreries.
As the highest point on the island (all 354 metres!) visiting is a must. A sanctuary built in the 16th century culminates the hill crowned by a cross to Jesus (of the Sacred Heart of course). Fantastic views across the island; Mallorca can be seen on a clear day.
The Menorca a Cavall riding school is located between Es Mercadal and Ferreries in Santa Rita. This is a very popular riding stables, taking people out along the ‘Cami de Cavalls’ newly reinstated ‘horse road’ around the island. Horse riding outings along the beach can also be arranged.

A major attraction along the east coast is the profusion of caves, a large number of which can be visited. Best known is probably the Cove del Drach (Dragon's Cave) next to Porto Colom, with its subterranean lake. Most caves are spectacular, with some intricate limestone formations and many other features slowly carved by nature from the sandstone. Sound and light shows to classical music are sometimes included, reportedly not to everyone’s taste. The Cuevas de Arta close to Capdepera also boasts enormous caverns and an underground lake. Cuevas del Hams, is also close to Porto Cristo.
These two companies offer balloon flights over the eastern part of Mallorca, at a fairly affordable rate.
The views are said to be superb.

Close to the town of Santanyi this is a protected area of natural coastal beauty. Local groups fought to protect this area covering 785 hectares from development; it was granted the status of national park in 1992. This is a perfect example of Mallorquin coastline and landscape, rich in bird life and flora. There are several different walking tours to be taken throughout the area.
The festival takes place in September and grows every year. Most bands perform at the Alcudia Auditorium.

This popular Sunday market is well worth the trip, no matter where you are on the island. Bustling with people, the streets come to life with fresh produce stalls, jewellery, clothes, leatherwork, all with a distinct quality feel. Cafes and restaurants get very busy and parking is suddenly scarce!
This company offers tandem jumps from a gentle slope above Alcudia, for a nice flight with great views over the bay. They also offer guidance to paragliding enthusiasts on other local flying sites and conditions.

This nature reserve was founded in 1988, spans mostly an area of wetlands grassy banks, and boasts over 200 species of birds.
Even if you are not a keen bird watcher the park is pleasant for walks and cycling tours.
A winding road goes all the way from Port De Pollensa to Cape Formentor, Mallorca’s north eastern most point.
The scenery along the way is dramatic, with tall cliffs falling hundreds of meters to the sea, and the road goes through a perfectly wild landscape. Well worth the tour.
Set high up in the Tramuntana Mountains above the steep coastline is the hill village of Deia, well worth a visit just for the scenic drive into the mountains. The beauty and seclusion of the village has long attracted many artists, writers and musicians, one of the most well known being Robert Graves who lived in Deia for many years and is buried there. It is now one of the chicest places on the island.
These two villages are known as two of the prettiest, most well preserved traditional villages on the Island. Fornalutx can be reached on foot from Soller the footpath is very well signposted. It is a pleasant and scenic way to enter the village with its steep winding streets and picturesque houses.
Biniaraix is just a few kilometres from Soller and is the start of a good trek through Barranc {ravine} de Biniaraix up into the hills. This walk follows an ancient well-preserved stone path, with charming scenery along the way and fantastic views from higher up.
Just over the tunnel on the way to Palma, this large country house and gardens are open to the public in season. The complex pre-dates the Spanish conquest of Mallorca, but the house itself has been rebuilt over the centuries and has lost much of its Moorish appearance. Nevertheless it makes a pleasant stopover on the way to or from Plama.
