Anybody coming to St Barth must at least have a drink at Le Select! This is St.Barth most famous and oldest bar, right at the corner of Quai d’Honneur, where locals and tourists mix in an easy going social environment. They had an unforgettable 50th anniversary a few years ago, with hundreds of fans coming from all over the world and Jimmy Buffet giving a great concert to honour the local owner, Marius. Live local bands come to perform several times a week and many enjoy a dance in a “bal populaire” atmosphere.

Le Repaire is a local institution, situated on Gustavia’s waterfront (under the Shipchandler). It comes regularly recommended as a fun place to enjoy a cocktail or have a nice meal. They serve breakfast from 0700-1100hrs, lunch and dinner non stop (from 1200-2230hrs); with a good selection of cocktails, salads, fish, lobster, ice cream, homemade sherbets and fresh juices. Bete a Z’Ailes (the beast with wings!) also called “BAZ” or “Jean Marc”, is - when the night comes - one of the most popular social focus points on the harbour. They have great international live bands playing several times a week, which even gets people dancing … on the tables! Other highlights of BAZ are their fabulous sushis, not to mention their great Espresso Martinis! Owner Jean-Marc is very close to the yachting community, and will even organize any 'custom' crew evenings, as required. BAZ is ideally located by the water, at the head of the harbour.

Yo is the renowned sushi chef of the Nikki Beach, who has created Yosushimania, a catering service exclusively delivering sushis! Last season, many chefs have ordered their sushi and they couldn’t praise enough their quality and freshness. Yosushimania offer a wide selection of delicious sushi, sashimi, maki, tataki tartare and rolls. They are delivered to the yacht on a nice wooden boat model, loaded with ice, to keep them cool, which will be picked up the next day. Orders have to be placed before 1700hrs and they only deliver in the evening.

Besides being the best and most sough after gourmet deli on the island, Maya’s to Go also offers catering services. A wide range of mouth watering and creative menus is available, from gourmet fares to delicious handmade food, always using fresh ingredients of the highest quality. They have taken care of major cocktails and dinner parties in past years, and they can arrange an unforgettable reception from start to finish, right down to the smallest detail, including all the material, tables, chairs, elegant table and glass ware, linens, service people etc.

This is one of Martinique’s highlights and may be the most popular and lively restaurant on the island! Ideally located just across the road from Marin Yacht Harbour Marina, this great place is open non stop, 6 days a week (closed Mondays). They serve a delicious choice of creative French Creole cuisine and the menu, written on a black board, changes daily. It also includes home made pizzas and delicious and artistically decorated desserts, especially molten chocolate cake or crepes.

This is the Cap Est Lagoon Resort 'restaurant gastronomique' (see 'Hotel / Resorts' section), that came recommended as one of the best on island. To really experience this place, start with a sumptuous cocktail in the super-chic bar lined with black-and-white photographs. In a beautiful setting, excellent innovative cuisine French cuisine with a Caribbean flair can be enjoyed, for a true FWI experience! The menu changes seasonally and the dishes come presented by a bevy of stylish servers.

Snack-bar, located in the heart of the quaint Village Creole in Pointe du Bout. They serve a selection of sandwiches, bruchettas, ‘tartines’, Flams (the French version of pizza) and several tables are available to enjoy their creations on site. The service is non stop. 

This heavenly hideaway, located in the country hillside of Le Francois, on the Atlantic coast is one of the nicest hotel / guest houses in Martinique. They have recently undergone a complete transformation, and the existing accommodations in Creole cases (cottages), painted red, purple, and subtle earth tones, have been enlarged, soundproofed, completely refurnished, and given updated bathrooms and terraces that maximize the glorious sea view.

People come from as far as Cannes to enjoy the unique cuisine and atmosphere of this fabulous restaurant. Perched above San Remo on a country road, a big mushroom shaped ceramic is the landmark for the entrance.
