A must place to visit in Cala en Porter. The caves are open during the day to visit and have drinks and snacks at Sa Cova. In the early evening it’s chill out time with cocktails watching the sunset, then later the caves really come to life with full on disco. Where else do you get a nightclub in a cave, great atmosphere, good music and DJ’s.

The Rolling Stock Group runs a prominent yacht finishing department, involved in many major paint jobs on larger yachts in Palma. They work mainly, but not exclusively with Alexseal paint systems, and have a team of well trained and qualified sprayers. New modern facilities in Son Oms will include spray booths, sanding rooms and storage space. Rolling stock also has a department simply called “Clear the Decks”, that does just what it says on the tin; removing fittings prior to major re-spraying work and putting everything back together afterwards!

As elsewhere in the Balears, cycling and mountain biking is popular.
There are a number of dedicated cycling routes; the interior and coastline is quite wild and mountain bikers will find plenty of trails to explore.
Biking is very popular all over the island. Mallorca is in fact a winter training ground for many professional cyclists. Soller is within cycling distance from Palma on bike, but note that the road tunnel linking both towns is not open to bicycles, nor is it possible to load your bike on the Soller trains. However, buses will take a few bicycles on board. Many local hotels in the area have mountain bikes for hire. While the 'on road' routes are limited to the few main roads on this side of the island, the off road options are numerous...but often involve quite a bit of bicycle carrying.
The area around Calvia offers multiple cycling possibilities. A dedicated cycle track now links Cala Mayor to Santa Ponsa and Calvia, and there are numerous recommended cycling routes in the area towards Peguera, Andratx as well as towards Puigpunyent and Galillea in the Sierra Tramuntana.
Biking in the low lands around Alcudia and Pollensa is popular, with plenty of rural, well marked cycling routes.
The main villages (Pollensa, Alcudia, Sa Pobla etc.) are sufficiently close to each other for some leisurely bicycle outings.
The train from Sa Pobla to Palma takes bicycles, as do many buses.
Barcelona is a cycling friendly city, complete with dedicated cycle lanes and paths throughout the city. There are many bike rental companies, tours and a ‘Bicing’ scheme supported by the city council-unfortunately you need to be a permanent resident to apply for this scheme. If possible, it is worth applying for as a cheap and convenient and ecological way to get around.
Palma’s Decathlon is just over the Via Cintura at the Puigpunyent junction.
For the un-initiated, Decathlon is a sports superstore offering good, functional sporting goods for amateurs at a reasonable price. Most sports are represented, from kayaking to football via cycling and weightlifting, without forgetting angling, tennis or golf.
