Santa Catalina Market
In the Santa Catalina area of town (that is immediately to the west of the old town on Palma harbour across Argentina Avenue), this municipal market is open on weekdays and Saturday mornings. This is mainly a fruit and veg market, but meat and fish are available as well. This is the closest and most convenient market for yachts moored at any of the harbour’s many marinas.

A few hundred yards to the south west of the Plaza d'Espanya towards the old town, is one of Palma's largest municipal Markets. It is open Monday to Saturday, mornings only. Although further away from the harbour than the Santa Catalina Market, choice is much larger on all types of products, whether fruit and vegetables, meats and hams or fish.
In the bay of Fornells, this British run sailing school provides tuiton to RYA standards.
They also have a huge collection of windsurfing boards and rigs available for hire. Open May till October.

Innovative sail cleaning loft, part of a chain of three outlets (Germany, UK, Spain) offering a fully automated sail cleaning and barrier coating re-impregnation service. Sails are fed flat through the magic cleaning machine, where they are soaked and washed before being recoated with protective chemicals thermally fixed to the sailcloth. Novosail has recently expanded its cleaning and impregnation service beyond the yachting arena and can handle all canvasses (such as covers and awnings) as well as protective clothing (wetsuits, security equipment etc). There is a regular train connection between Palma, Sa Pobla (close to Port de Pollensa) and Manacor. The trains are modern, regular, efficient and cheap. There is a special compartment for bicycles. The train station in Palma is located underneath the Plaza d’Espagna. Most bus routes towards outlying towns and villages start from here as well.
