Hughes Marine is the highly recommended mech.engineering service that has made St. Barth become a technical stop of choice for some yachts, who are choosing to stop there specifically for his expertise! Manager Jean Marie Cellerier is masterly assisted by Fanfan, the talented lady who creates wonderful arrangements, carefully following her clients instructions and desires. Ligne St Barth is a wonderful line of natural cosmetics and fragrances made on the island. All the products are rigorously approved by dermatologists, PABA free, and tested to international standards. Teck is a truly delightful store located on Rue Samuel Fahlberg in Gustavia (at the head of the harbour). They have a wonderful selection of furniture and antiques from Indonesia and Asia, as well as exquisite decoration items, such as lamps, shells, wooden frames, sculpture… They specialize in teak (noted for its exceptional longevity and ability to cope with dry or wet spells), and have designed a whole line of furniture specifically for this noble, elegant and durable wood.
Located in the heart of Gustavia, on the Rue de la Republique - just a short walk from the port – this beauty and wellness spa is run by Anne Picard. She offers a wide range of beauty treatments at the Venus Spa, for both men and women, including facial and body treatments, massage, hand and feet care and waxing, to name but a few! A small hair salon further enhances the services and treatments available at this excellent new beauty spa. At the request of her clients, Anne and her team will also make private visits to yachts or villas for both spa and hair treatments.
A former hair stylist, Francoise decided to specialise in nail design, the art of which she had perfected following a training by Alessandro at the Institut Laugier in Paris, and then by twelve years perfecting her skills in her own salon. She now offers a most specialized ‘nail’ service which includes manicures, pedicures, gel nails using colour, and permanent French manicures.
The salon is located in Petite Saline, though Francoise will travel to hotels, villas and yachts as requested, and she also has a contract with the Eden Rock Hotel.
St Barth famous home made “glacier” has now 2 outlets in the harbour. A very colourful (impossible to miss it!) one across the Quai d’Honneur, next to the Sunset Hotel, and the other one, on Rue Jeanne d'Arc towards la Pointe. Owner Yann Colin makes the most delicious selection of homemade sorbets and ice creams (with more than 26 different flavours!). With no artificial flavouring, and no additives... they really don't come much better than this! Indeed, Le Petit Deauville ice creams are so popular, that they supply all the best restaurants and can be found in local supermarkets.
Elisa Bally is an incredibly gifted and talented home designer, whose natural personal elegance reflects in her creations. Born in Paris, she has since spent almost 20 years in the Caribbean, and her style capture the essence of the bygone era of the plantations or the colourful simplicity of the wooden cabins. She creates a unique universe of beauty and harmony, and has designed and reorganized the Guanahani hotel and spa decoration with the architect Philippe Stouvenot, to its gorgeous and luxuriously tropical colourful look.
Valerie, the owner of La Case Piment Vert and her lovely boutique, situated next to La Bete a Z'Ailes at the head of Gustavia harbour, came again highly recommended for her wonderful selection of linens, towels, bathware, table ware and interior furnishing. She enjoys an ever growing popularity among private yachts and villas, and offers all the latest trends of the most prestigious designers. They carry brands such as Descamps, Ungaro, Sonia Rickyel, Jalla, Kenzo, Turpault, and Yves Delorme. They can also offer embroidery services.
