YACHT MAINTENANCE

Newport is considered by most to be the yachting capitol of the U.S. Once a busy colonial seaport built around a large, protected harbor, the town is now a thriving year-round yachting community with a large choice of first class marinas, a world renowned shipyard, a wide range of qualified technicians and top notch provisioning options. One look at the harbor during the summer – with hundreds of yachts on moorings and marinas full of Superyachts – shows how popular Newport has become for both visiting yachts and those based here all summer, with easy access to all the cruising grounds of Southern New England.

Once home to the America’s Cup, Newport now hosts more yachting events than any other town as visitors come to enjoy the reliable sea breezes and an incredible array of excellent restaurants, eclectic boutiques, historic inns and an extremely well preserved downtown that reflects its colonial past and gilded age grandeur. Further north on Aquidneck Island, the towns of Middletown and Portsmouth are also home to many more marine related services, most conveniently located in the Melville Marine District, a sprawling yachting center along Portsmouth’s west side. Other attractions including several golf courses, hiking trails, beautiful beaches, seaside parks and scenic bike routes.
